The Christian Science Journal is an official publication of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, published, since April 1883, "to put on record the divine Science of Truth."
Mary Baker Eddy, who established this magazine, is also the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and the author of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures—the book that "contains the full statement of Christian Science, or the Science of healing through Mind."
As described in the Manual of The Mother Church, "At a meeting of the Christian Scientist Association, April 12, 1879, on motion of Mrs. Eddy, it was voted,—To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."
This monthly magazine contains instructive articles and verified reports of Christian healing, to give the reader a working understanding of the divine Principle and practice of Christian Science. Each monthly issue also contains a worldwide directory of Christian Science practitioners, teachers, churches, Reading Rooms, organizations at universities and colleges, nurses and Committees on Publication serving the public.
